Exciting young West Australian labels, A=mc2, David &/or Billy, foal, my girl gwendoline, petrafanella and pinchandspoon plus many more will be showcasing their spring/summer collections in a unique one‐day event at Perth Cultural Centre's newest space, Urban Orchid (opposite the WA Art Gallery) on Sunday 12 September.

Submissions for the 2010 Qantas Spirit of Youth Awards are now open!
Designers aged 30 and under across seven creative fields are invited to submit their work for a chance to receive $5000 of financial support, $5000 in Qantas flights as well as a rare 12 month mentorship opportunity with creative leaders including Marc Newson, Zimmermann, Deanne Cheuk, Jan Chapman and Liz Ann Macgregor.

FORM chatted to emerging fashion designer Kate Macfarlane about Boom - a collaborative exhibition that examines the influence of the recent mining boom on young WA creatives.
Working across a variety of fields, these visual artists, fashion designers, architectural designers, musicians, photographers and writers considered how Perth’s famed mining boom and its resulting economic prosperity impacted their lives, their practices, and their approach to being a young artist in WA.
From this shared starting point comes boom., a publication and exhibition of collaborative and solo artworks and fictional text that seek to map out the disparate responses of all involved.
