Currently encompassed by The Canning Stock Route Project, all Indigenous Development projects are implemented by FORM staff and a team of consultants with extensive experience in Indigenous arts and cultural development, in collaboration with remote and regional art centres.
The heart of the Program is founded on principles that engage and develop creative collaboration, shared contribution, participation and celebration. Projects are initiated via Indigenous art enterprises and their associated community organisations, with an emphasis towards professional development workshops across all creative mediums including new media, fibre arts, sculpture, and paintings.
Projects are mostly facilitated out-bush and ‘in-country’ with the benefits, proceeds and intellectual property returned to the people and communities involved. The Indigenous Development Program takes the aims and principles of Creative Capital to the remote regions of WA – from the Pilbara to the Kimberley to the Midwest and country surrounding the Canning Stock Route.
Integrating professional development and employment opportunities, the program builds opportunities for social interaction and intercultural exchange, and promotes investment in Indigenous cultural and creative projects that support community livelihoods.
