UNVEILED: DESIGNING FUTURES PRODUCT LAUNCH
August 4 to 19, 2006, FORM Gallery.
FORM was delighted to exhibit these fresh, sophisticated products. The result of a dedication to overcome the challenges facing contemporary designers, the products formed a story about what can be achieved when a peak industry body joins forces with talented local designers and industry representatives.
Unveiled was the culmination of 14 months work centred on advancing the Perth designers’ business strategies and goals, developing designs, fostering retail-ready products, and assisting individual designers with the issues each faced in their practices. The exhibition showcased the achievements of the designers involved in the program and the products developed by each. A sophisticated product brochure was also produced, profiling each designer and their products with a particular emphasis on promoting the work to retailers, manufacturers, specifiers, distributors and media. The exhibition opening was targeted towards the same audience, connecting Western Australia’s designers and craftspeople with relevant industry networks to aid their development and enhance the profile of local design.
Unveiled participating designers:
Margaret Ainscow, Lucy Bromell, Carol Anne Cassidy, Anthony Docherty, Penny Forlano, Holly Grace, Chris Robins and David Walker.
The showcase presented designs ranging from furniture and home-wares, products for a contemporary lifestyle, to landscape sculpture and public art design services.
