This Expert Speaker lunch and forum brought former Creative Capital Specialist in Residence, Charles Landry, together with Perth alumnus Opher Yom-Tov.
Raised and educated in Perth, Opher Yom-Tov is the Shanghai Director of IDEO, a unique design company that developed such iconic products as the first mouse for Apple Macintosh computers and a user-friendly version of the online banking service for the Bank of America.
IDEO also forged inroads into the concept of innovative design as a social enabler, with many projects focussing on social outcomes.
Yom-Tov and Landry presented on the importance of 'design thinking', creativity and innovation when approaching problems and finding solutions in areas such as urban planning and development, environmental and economic sustainability and social issues. Following on from FORM’s Evening with Al Gore, the Landry/Yom-Tov event reminded us that all industries and sectors need to instill creativity in every aspect of their business practice.
