Charles has written extensively on the necessity of creativity in developing successful, vibrant and sustainable cities and has initiated groundbreaking research and creative development for many international cities including Chicago, Sydney, Seattle, Vancouver, Helsinki and Glasgow. His inspired ideas have reached many groups and influenced diverse cities globally.

While Specialist in Residence, Landry was involved in many visioning and strategic workshops and meetings with diverse senior personnel from local and state government, state planning bodies, development groups and education and creative industries sectors. Landry also engaged with the Perth community via a series of articles he wrote for The West Australian, facilitated by FORM, and through a number of free public presentations at His Majesty's Theatre, which attracted around 1,000 people per event.
