Jane And Joan

Beautiful framed watercolour art painted with love in Perth and the Pilbara

Janelle McCaffrey Artwork

Janelle McCaffrrey’s rugs, baskets & bags are made from re-cycled fabrics that are washed & torn into strips. The strips are then joined together to create a fabric yarn. The edges are left raw to create a rustic look. The yarn is then crocheted in a traditional style.

I enjoy using & combining colours in unexpected ways in order to lend a modern twist to a traditional art.
What makes these items so special is the re-purposing of fabric & the fact they are machine washable. Every one of them is unique & I do customized orders!

Neath & Maiden

As a current PhD student, I spend my days researching, writing, and reading in my remote Pilbara town.

This is where my tutoring business was born. It has always been difficult to find elegant and decor-suitable educational resources. Everything I’ve hung on the walls of my home-based classroom looked out of place, but I still needed such items for my students. So, I decided to develop my own resources that would meet the educational needs of the students, but also suit my home. From here, we are growing into the realm of home and office products to create the perfect study spaces and home office environments.

Tara and the Tigress

These high quality, luxurious, yet simple clothes are designed in Australia and hand-crafted in India.

The fabric is personally sourced by Tara and her mumma from different pockets of India where artists excel in their local craft, passed down for generations.

Due to capitalism, these ancient art forms are disappearing and the artisans are loosing their livelihoods to industrial mass production. As a result, at T&T we attempt to use hand crafted fabrics as much as possible.

We provide training in sewing and embroidery to widows and illiterate women of Udaipur. So far we have 4 trainees. (Udaipur is a beautiful city of lakes in Rajasthan, India where the T&T workshop is based)

Our team comprises of 2 tailors, a part time pattern master, a supervisor, 4 trainees, Tara and her mum.

Our items are bespoke pieces and any minute imperfections add to the character of each garment, as such is the nature and beauty of hand crafted items.
We hope you enjoy our garments as much as we enjoyed making them.

With love,
The team at Tara and The Tigress
